The Dead List actually turned into a surprise for me. I originally started trying to read this book when Jennifer had it posted up on Wattpad a few years ago for her fans. I need to say I couldn't get past the first couple of chapters for some reason. Now a couple years later I picked it up again and I am so glad I did. I truly enjoyed this suspenseful read. this is about four childhood friends who after a tragedy when they were all about 13 drifted apart. four years later at the start of their senior year of high school tragedy strikes again, a girl is missing and one of the four attacked. the tension that the author builds is believable and real. it makes you as the reader question every characters intentions. Jenson is the somewhat too good to be true love interest to Ella and was part of the original four friends. Gavin her ex who was also her friend years before. we see as readers how after tragedy and loss and growing up how everything can change. some for the good and some not so much. this is a wonderful story and I highly recommend this to any who like suspense and a good love story.Product details

I'm thinking Armentrout should write more mysteries. She weaves a good story and is on point with her timing and suspense. It was also incredibly sad and heartfelt.
I suspected who the killer was early on but it didn't take away from any of the build-up. There were times when it felt too young for me with the "He might be a killer but he's so hot" kind of attitude amongst the girls. But I didn't mind too much. I'd still recommend it if you're in the mood for a good YA murder mystery. Good job.
I missed out on The Dead List when it was being posted on Wattpad, which totally bummed me out, but I knew I had to read it. After reading Till Death, I wanted to see what other murderous ideas Jennifer Armentrout had up her sleeve. I definitely wasn’t disappointed. While this one is a bit younger in feel than Till Death, it still had the amazing pacing and suspense that the other book had. Jennifer Armentrout had definitely found a place in mystery/thriller genre and I hope she continues to write in it.
First thing is that, I am happy that this story is nothing like anything J. Armentrout has written. It seems that a lot of authors are afraid to write something new and outside their expertise. So thanks to to author for taking a risk.
I have it at four stars because I figured out the mystery within a couple chapters. The story did keep me entertained and is fast paced. I like the romance between Jensen and Ella and the flashbacks of the four friends, though heartbreaking at times.
I have never in my life looked ahead chapters to find out who the killer was, but after reading all day and being on page 259 my heart couldn’t take it any longer. I was eventually going to have to fee the family and Ms. Armentrout had my nerves shot. I was worse than a character in the book I trusted NO ONE and I knew everyone was a suspect even some of the parents seemed shady. But even after taking a peek to ease my weary heart Ms. Armentrout pulls out even more surprises. Damn, I love all the suspense and it was just what I needed. Love this Book!
I wanted to like this book, I truly did. The premise was great. But the characters fell flat, I just didn't care about any of them. They had no substances or depth. I also didn't believe who the killer turned out to be and not in a good way. The motive was stupid and made no sense.
A lot of the book just drags despite it being a thriller. When the killer doesn't show up, it's not even frightening.
Be forewarned, there's graphic sex in this book. That doesn't bother me. But I know it will some.
I wish I'd taken a pass on this one. Armentrout can and has done better. Giving any book of hers two stars hurts. But more just wouldn't be honest.
I have loved J. Armentrout for years, she is a author queen, she really is. I FREAKING loved this book. It was creeptastic and just look over your shoulder writing. I loved it. What I really really appreciated was that the female main character was no crawl up in a corner and bury her head girl, she wanted to be able to take care of herself and did so but without it being over the top. I really think every single girl/woman should take self defense classes, it should be mandatory in school, it's a win win. Read it, read it, read it, it'll have you turning on the lights. Huge kisses J. Armentrout, you'll always be a queen!!!
Who thought high school could be so deadly? Girls are being attacked and coming up missing. Odd things are occurring and dead birds are appearing. Ella seems to be the person of interest in this cold blooded killer's eyes. But why? It seems like the dead is coming back to haunt her and take her to their realm. It all stems back to middle school, four friends, and a group of bullies. Everyone is a target and bodies are dropping.
Jennifer Armentrout had me on the edge of my seat with this YA thriller. I could easily see this book being made into a movie.
